Huntington FC Club Person of the Year 2019/20
It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the last ever winner of Huntington FC's club person of the year award for the 2019/20 season is Jason Bryan.
Jason is one of our most passionate junior coaches at the club. Over the last season he has been the driving force for grant applications to improve the playing surfaces at our hopgrove facility, the designer of the new Huntington Rovers FC website and new club badge as well of many other initiatives, that unfortunately due to Covid-19 never got off the ground this time around. All this whilst coaching last seasons under 9s!!!
Jason is a doer and when he gets an idea in his head he will drive and push it to the best of his abilities to get it over the line for the benefit of the club.
The extra work jason has put in to Huntington FC over the last year has been phenomenal and this award is a small token of our appreciation.

Below is a set of rules that will enable Huntington Rovers FC teams to use the Hopgrove Playing Fields for small group training sessions as per government and Fa guidelines. All coaches and participants MUST read and agree to these rules before sessions take place.
The waiver form accompanies these rules which all participants (or parents of participants.) Will need to read and sign.
We are hoping that it will be a live document that will get updated as and when restrictions are lifted to get back to a more "normal" session in the not to distant future.
Sanitary products required will be provided by Huntington Rovers FC. This will be funded by way of a 50p per participant for a training group session consisting of 5 players plus a coach. This will enable Huntington Rovers FC to keep the supplies topped up on a regular basis.
The waiver would need to be signed prior to sessions taking place by all coaches and participants in the session.
For training session timings details and any other queries please contact the relevant Team Manager
*note this is for teams that use the Hopgrove Playing Fields for training and not Huntington Sports Club. No arrangements are in place for this venue yet. Please await further details or contact you Team Manager.
We are excited to let everyone know that Huntington Rovers, Heworth AFC and Huntington FC will from the 2020/21 season all combine resources to play as Huntington Rovers Football club. The decision has been made by the various committees and as the 2019/20 season has now unfortunately finished early the changes come into play with immediate effect. This will mean that Huntington Rovers Football Club will hopefully have a full compliment of junior teams in every age group of the York and District Youth Football League (u7s-U16’s.) We are also Hoping to Retain our U19’s team and our open age woman’s team as well as the open age men’s and men’s reserves teams.
Our main objective is to give junior players from our local community a clear route into adult football.
Along with this objective we also want the football club to be a hub for the local community. We are determined to get behind more local events than ever before and put Huntington Rovers at the forefront of the local community.
We are fortunate to have use of 2 amazing facilities in the Sports and Social Club on North Lane and the Hopgrove playing fields on Malton Road and we aim to maximise the use of these facilities to benefit our community through football and social events.
More information will be published in due course and we are planning on having a fun day at the sports club to formally announce the changes once restrictions are lifted, but for now stay safe and football in Huntington will be back bigger and better then ever before as soon as it is possible.
UPCOMING FUNDRAISING EVENTS:
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 the end of season presentation along with a pig racing fundraising event on 20th June 2020 is cancelled. We hope to re-arrange the event is to raise funds towards Hopgrove Playing Fields drainage scheme in the near future.
The first of the fundraising scheme is to purchase a tractor and maintenance kit to allow all year round maintenance programme. This programme will be implemented with the FA recommendations for grass cuttings, hole tining and slitting. This is to enhance the current playing surface to enable more games to be playable throughout the winter months.
PAST FUNDRAISING EVENTS:
Huntington FC has again self-funded the club with various fundraising activities throughout the season 2018/19. With fantasy football competitions ran by our Under 19's coach Paul Fawcett who has raised over £150. Again Paul was responsible for organising the annual bag packing event at Monks Cross Sainsbury's where all teams contributed to an amazing total of £1130.
There have also been other events such as a Pig Racing night which raised funds for the u7s team.
We will also be looking to carry out further fund raising during the 2019/20 season.
