CLUB MERGER

For the 2020/21 season Huntington Rovers, Heworth AFC and Huntington FC combined resources to play as Huntington Rovers Football club.  This will mean that Huntington Rovers Football Club will hopefully have a full compliment of junior teams in every age group of the York and District Youth Football League (u7s-U16’s.) With teams playing U19’s team as well as our open age woman’s team and the open age men’s and men’s reserves teams.

Our main objective is to give junior players from our local community a clear route into adult football.

Along with this objective we also want the football club to be a hub for the local community. We are determined to get behind more local events than ever before and put Huntington Rovers at the forefront of the local community.

We are fortunate to have use of 2 amazing facilities in the Sports and Social Club on North Lane and the Hopgrove playing fields on Malton Road and we aim to maximise the use of these facilities to benefit our community through football and social events.

More information will be published in due course and we are planning on having a fun day at the sports club to formally announce the changes once restrictions are lifted,  but for now stay safe and football in Huntington will be back bigger and better then ever before as soon as it is possible.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS

A number of fund raising events will be held to raise money for individual teams as well as the club as a whole.

Further events will be planned and updates will be provided via the Huntington Rovers facebook page here when known. Please check the facebook page https://m.facebook.com/Huntingtonroversfc/

PLAYERS/COACHES WANTED

Huntington Rovers FC may have space for players for some of the teams. Younger age groups tend to be over subscribed but if interested please contact us and we can check if there is space.

Older teams tend to struggle more for players. For the adult teams especially the ladies please contact us and we will see if players are required.

All of our coaches are FA level 1 (or working towards) or 2 trained which ensures a good standard of coaching is available to all.  Coaching is undertaken within a fun and safe environment (all our coaches are Disclosure & Barring Service cleared) and in accordance with the FA’s RESPECT campaign.  In addition we have in place a Child Welfare Officer and follow all FA guidelines on Child Safeguarding to create a safe enjoyable environment for the kids.

We welcome children of all abilities to train and play for Huntington Rovers FC.  FA arranged matches are provided for the Under 7s – Under 11s while the Under 12s upwards compete in FA affiliated leagues as do the Men's & ladies teams.

If you are interested please get in touch with the team coaches or by email huntingtonfootballclub@gmail.com.
